My Favorite Ways To Romanticize Everyday Life

Life has felt so full lately—in both good and overwhelming ways. Between work, content (which tbh I have been slacking on), my never-ending to-do list, and just trying to keep up with real life, I’ve realized something: if I don’t intentionally slow down, I’ll blink and miss it all.

That’s why lately, I’ve been trying to romanticize my everyday routines. Not in a fake “main character” way (which even if it was WHO CARES, haha), but in a small, real, grounding way. I feel like these moments help me feel more present, more grateful, and honestly, just more me.

Here are a few of the ways I’ve been turning my day-to-day life into something a little softer and special:

☕️ Morning Coffee = a Ritual, Not a Rush

Instead of chugging caffeine while scrolling my phone, I try to slow down. On the days I can, I’ll make a hot coffee with my Nespresso machine or pour some Starbucks Blonde Roast iced coffee with Chobani Sweet Cream creamer (highly recommend if you need a quick option). I put it in a cute cup, sit down, and either do my devotional, journal, plan my day, or sometimes just sit with my thoughts (which, as a chronic over-thinker, can be a little scary haha) and breathe.

Sometimes I’ll light a candle or put on a podcast, but often I just sit quietly with my coffee. Taking even 10 intentional minutes in the morning can completely shift the energy of my day.

🎶 Curated Playlists for Everything

I have playlists for every mood:

  • “Soft girl mornings” for slow starts

  • “Lake life energy” for sunshine + windows down

  • “Reset days” for cleaning and calming vibes

  • “Delulu but productive” for walking + goal plotting

Having music that matches the moment makes everything feel cinematic, and it can help keep your moods up

👗 Getting Dressed for Myself

Even if I’m working from home or not seeing anyone, I’ve been trying to actually get dressed. Not fancy—just cute loungewear or a simple outfit that feels like me.

It’s not about how I look—it’s about how I feel. And it truly helps me show up differently in my day.

🌅 Getting Outside on Purpose

Fresh air changes everything. Whether it’s a short walk, a solo coffee on the porch (I love doing this as the lake), or just standing in the sun for five minutes—I try to connect with nature, even in tiny ways.

It grounds me. And it reminds me life is so much bigger than my inbox.

🕯️ Creating Beauty in Small Places

I add little cozy touches to my space—like a favorite framed photo, a cute coaster on my desk, a candle I actually light instead of just display, or switching my desktop wallpaper to something that inspires me.

It’s not about perfection—it’s about creating peace.

💌 Final Thoughts

Romanticizing your life doesn’t have to be a full-blown aesthetic rebrand. It’s just about choosing to see the magic in the ordinary. It’s reminding yourself that you deserve to feel joy right now—not just when you hit the next milestone.

So light the candle. Make the pretty breakfast. Go on the solo Target run with a podcast. You don’t need a reason.

You’re allowed to enjoy the moment just because it’s yours.

xoxo,
